Stuffed vine leaves

  • Traditional recipe for stuffed vine leaves

    Time preparation: 30 minutes

    Processing time: 50 minutes

    Serves: 8

    20 pc. vine leaves 300 g mince 1 carrot 2 -3 cloves of garlic 1 tablespoon of cooking oil 1 onion 1 tomato 1 ½ cups of rice ½ coffee spoon of mint 3-4 sprigs of parsley pepper to taste

    Method of preparation:
    Pour steaming water over the vine leaves and then strain off the water. Finely chop the carrots, the onions and the garlic heads. Stew them with the oil and some water and add the mince, stir well and add the rice. Pour in about 100 ml of water, enough to make the rice swell. Cook the stuffing at lower temperature, until the rice absorbs the water and then add the spices and the finely chopped tomato. Roll up the leaves stuffed with the mixture and place them in a saucepot. Add water, enough to cover the stuffed leaves, and press with a plate on top. Boil for about 40 minutes, then arrange the stuffed leaves in a baking pan covered in a little bit of oil and bake in the oven.
